I woke up this morning to the sound of my phone ringing. Two text messages from my family in Miami, Fl. Both texts were related to either books, writing or my love for nerdy stuff. The first “Kat, did you take the Lord of the Rings movies with you when you moved to Tennessee?” The second, “I just started reading a book from your old library at home. The intro was horrible. When are you going to finish writing your Middle Grade book?”
What I got out of both these texts: Thanksgiving is over and I’m only several weeks from the Hobbit premier! I loved the Hobbit much more than the LOTR books. Second: Thanksgiving is over and it is time to get back to what I love doing most. Writing.
After a quick breakfast I went to the local gym, burned off some energy and finally felt my imagination come out of its turkey induced coma. The exercise helped me get in a focused state of mind while also pushing the flood gates of my muse open. And so after a great morning and productive afternoon I am more than happy to be back in the swing of things. Happier to have placed the leftover turkey bits in the past so I can fully immerse myself in the world of fantasy, fun and adventure…while also anticipating the release of the Hobbit and admitting to my sister that I indeed brought the movies with me. She could always use Netflix, right?
